The three were arrested in Trumbull on Wednesday, Sept. 7, following the incident at the Ten Trumbull Apartments.
The New Haven County teens, identified as David Mitchell, age 18, a 17-year-old, and a 16-year-old, all of Meriden, were arrested around 3 a.m. after police were called to 100 Oakview Drive to investigate a report of three people that were dressed in black and entering vehicles in the parking lot, said Lt. Brian Weir, of the Trumbull Police.
Arriving officers located Mitchell and the two teens standing in the roadway next to a BMW nearby, Weir said.
As officers spoke with the teens, they all had bulges in their pockets and provided false information to the police. Officers observed the interior of the BMW had items thrown around inside and the glove box was left open. Officers then located various amounts of jewelry, key fobs, cell phones, and loose change in their pockets, Weir added.

The 16-year-old had an electronic cigarette and the key fob to his father’s Acura in his possession, as the vehicle was located nearby, police said.
Inside the Acura, officers recovered various items including marijuana, a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun with no identifying numbers, affixed with a laser sight, and a 17-round capacity magazine, Weir added.
